Heinrich Hoffmann Hitler SA uniform test photo session
Here we see Hitler testing his ‘look’ wearing the 1928 SA uniform
This SA shirt is believed to be a golden brown in color, the fabric’s sheen is clearly visible.
Note that Hitler tries 2 different configurations on his shirt pocket for his two awards won in WW l : Iron cross and wound badge
along with trying out various lengths for his black necktie
He also tries out a look in a few of the photos wearing an early version of the ‘coffee can’ SA cap.
Reportedly Hitler disliked this SA cap look so much that he forbade any photos released publicly of him wearing it. Oddly enough, he DID wear it while at some events, but more often, he carried it. Photos of him wearing that SA cap are among the most rare of all his uniform photos. During the period of 1925-1932 Hitler appeared hatless 99% of the time
The only time his uniform was somewhat similar to SS uniforms, were elements found in the 1928 uniform: the brown shirt with black tie, the dark bordered party armband.
Hitler was photographed wearing this uniform a year or so later at the 1929 reichsparteitag. His modification then would be the addition of the NSDAP party pin worn which he would pin onto his necktie
This uniform was modified in 1931 and again in 1933 before adapting the familiar NSDAP political leader jacket and tie uniforms of the 1930’s

*much thanks to adolfing for posting this great photoset! *
This might be the very last real color photo taken of Hitler. Does anyone know?
I remember a caption that stated, that this model of Linz was either placed in the Führerbunker or in the Neue Reichskanzlei. I personally think it’s to big to fit into the Bunker, but you’re probably right about the year. He spent a lot of time dreaming of the rebuilding of his “hometown” Linz in those days.
